India and Bangladesh are in discussion pertaining to the signing of CEPA or the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is currently visiting Bangladesh, reportedly, maintained this while addressing a press meet along with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen even as he said the bilateral trade, and Indian investment and assistance to infrastructure projects have regained momentum, which was lost during the pandemic.
CEPA with Bangladesh is one of the agreements that India is, reportedly, prioritising and the two sides had agreed to enhance trade through the removal of non-tariff barriers, regulations and procedures and need for predictability of trade policies, under the agreement.
