Allseas Global Logistics, the UK-based liner, will launch its service mid-May, connecting Liverpool, Rotterdam and Chittagong ports with three ships even as Switzerland-based maritime logistics service provider Commodity Supplies will launch a service, with three chartered vessels, connecting Rotterdam, Barcelona and Chittagong in late May.
Media reports maintained this adding this was welcomed by the garment makers in Bangladesh.
Speaking to the media, the First Vice-President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Syed Nazrul Islam, reportedly, underlined a good number of vessels would need to sail from Chittagong to Europe every week to make the venture successful while adding the country’s apparel industry will benefit from these direct services.
