For the July–April FY 2023–24 quarter, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has published the apparel export data.
According to BGMEA Director Mohiuddin Rubel, during the specified period, ready-made garment (RMG) exports increased by 4.97 per cent year-over-year to US $ 40.49 billion from US $ 38.58 billion during the same period of the fiscal year 2022–23.
According to the head of the business group, knitwear exports climbed by 9.11 per cent to US $ 22.88 billion, while woven garments increased by 0.03 per cent to US $ 17.62 billion.
He said, “The apparel export earnings for the single month of April 2024 indicate that exports in that same month were US $ 3.29 billion, down 1.01 per cent from April 2023.”
