Low & Bonar’s textile division, Bonar that specializes in high performance technical textiles is to start constructing its new factory in Changzhou region of China. The company recently celebrated the foundation ceremony at the plant location where Brett Simpson, CEO of Low & Bonar said, “Our decision to invest in a new factory in China to support the fast growing Asian markets is consistent with our strategy and will consolidate our position as global leader in the carpet tile backing and automotive markets.” The state-of-the-art production facility will provide a strong platform for the company’s further growth and is anticipated to commence production from 2016. The Changzhou Government and Changzhou National High-Tech District (CND) have been very supportive to make the new investment in CND possible. The total cost of the investment will be 32 million Pounds spread over two years and is funded by Bonar’s own resources.
