e-CAB or the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh is considering suspending Evaly’s membership — Evaly is an e-commerce platform in Bangladesh where people can purchase all kinds of goods from a pencil to a book to a dress to a cell phone to cars to lands, everything from a single website — following complaints of irregularities against it.
Reports maintained this while adding that the e-CAB has recently sent a show-cause letter to Evaly’s Managing Director asking why his company’s membership should not be suspended following complaints from the central bank (Bangladesh Bank) through an inspection report, the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, the Commerce Ministry and many buyers and merchants.
In the letter sent to Evaly, signed by e-CAB’s General Secretary, the company concerned has, reportedly, been asked to respond within seven working days upon receiving the letter.
Further, e-CAB has also, reportedly, sent show-cause letters to other e-commerce entities like Annex World Wide Limited, Green Bangla E-Commerce Limited, Amar Bazar Limited, Excellent World Agro-Food and Consumers Limited following allegations of so-called anomalies.
