Most of the knitting machine manufacturers and suppliers from Ludhiana have limited their territory to northern India, but PK International is among the few knitting technology providers with a well-defined customer base allover India. With the main office in New Delhi, PK International has clients in Bombay, Tirupur, Kolkata and Dehradun, apart from other prominent knitting hubs in northern India. The company is majorly known for circular and flat knitting machine from WellKnit Taiwan, and taking the opportunity at the fair, launched its new line of computerized flat knitting machines from Jin Peng China.
“The WS/2.2FA circular knitting machine from Wellknit can easily be called the machine which established PK International and currently more than 8,000 machines are running in India,” claims Jatinder Sudera of PK International. The machine can be used for producing cotton, silk, artificial fur for blankets and a variety of other fabrics. The machine provides diameter space ranging from 16 to 26 inches, and gauge of 18G to 24G. The machine has a life span of more than 15 years and can produce around 900 kgs per 12 hour shift. “Talking about output people tend to run the machine non-stop for attaining maximum output but fail to understand that greater the frequency of work the shorter will be the life span of the needle set and when it happens it is either our fault or the manufacturers fault,” adds Jatinder.
The booth of PK International attracted large number of visitors for the new JP-601 computerized flat knitting machine from Jin Peng China. Although a recent addition to the portfolio of PK International, already around 3000 machine are running in India, majorly in Ludhiana with people buying nothing less than 15 machines at a time. The machine has a bed width of 42 inches and gauge range of 7G to 18G. Talking about the fair in general Jatinder added, “The visitors at the fair are now very educated and know what they want. However, for the majority of visitors price is still the top priority.”
