The Prime Minister’s Office recently formed a 24-member high-level committee led by Prime Minister’s Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman, to ensure safe environment and prevent accidents in factories, industrial and commercial establishments and mills.
Reports claimed this while adding as per a Government notification issued in this direction, under the leadership of BIDA (Bangladesh Investment Development Authority), FBCCI (Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries), BGMEA and all concerned Government and non-Government authorities will immediately inspect all the industries on the spot.
Commerce Minister, the Minister for Industries, the Minister/State Minister for Labour and Employment, the Minister/State Minister for Housing and Public Works, the local MPs and the Mayors of the concerned city corporations or municipalities are, reportedly, amongst the 24 members of the committee, the functions of which include taking necessary measures reviewing the observations and recommendations received from the field inspection by the responsible authority or committee.
Md. Tofazzel Hossain Miah, the PMO Secretary, has, reportedly, signed this notification.
