‘Uddami Ami,’ Brac Business School’s flagship women’s entrepreneurship training programme, wrapped off Cohort 6 on Saturday at Brac University’s new campus in Merul Badda.
The concluding celebration marked the conclusion of the training by 20 bright and diverse women entrepreneurs from various industries in Bangladesh. Uddami Ami has successfully trained almost 120 female entrepreneurs in Bangladesh since its launch in September 2021.
The event was attended by Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman, director, SME and Special Program Department, Bangladesh Bank; Md Rezaul Karim, company secretary, HATIL; Dr David Dowland, registrar, Brac University; and Dr Mohammad Mujibul Haque, professor and associate dean ( acting dean), Brac Business School, Brac University.
Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman congratulated the participants on their courage to pursue entrepreneurship. Ashiqur reminded the participants of the Government’s assistance for women entrepreneurs through Bangladesh Bank’s allocation of Taka 35,000 crore.
He encouraged the participants to broaden their business concepts and goods to benefit from this funding.
Md Rezaul Karim was glad to welcome the women entrepreneurs to HATIL’s plant for an industry visit session with Uddami Ami.
Rezaul sincerely urged that Brac Business School and Brac University generate local business cases so that students and businesses may learn about the dynamics of business in Bangladesh.
This involves creating local business cases for the 1st International Case Conference on Business and Management (ICCBM 2023) and undertaking research and training programmes that provide collaboration possibilities for all stakeholders at the Uddami Ami closing ceremony.
