Continuing with its legacy of innovative technology, eminent German circular knitting machine manufacturer and innovator, Mayer & Cie, will be showcasing its line of highly productive machines both for the textiles and the growing elastic mattress ticking fabric sector at ITME 2012.
Represented by its long time dealer Batliboi International, Mayer & Cie will be focusing on the latest version of the ultra-high speed series, the Relanit 4.0 UHS, which achieves an incredible speed of 70 RPM on a 30 inch diameter machine whilst producing plain single jersey fabric. The machine’s belt drive is controlled by special servo motors, easily operated from the display of the machine, which guarantees exact yarn supply and avoids fluctuations in the yarn quantity supplied. In order to further increase the efficiency of the machine, the Relanit 4.0 has a computer-controlled knit-on aid which increases the yarn tension for the knit-on process automatically for a short time and makes knitting ‘a piece of cake’.
The other machine that would be in the limelight would be the new S4-3.2 R II which is the first striper machine in the world that can produce single striper fabrics of 3 or – by combination of individual feeders – also of more colours with 3.2 knitting feeders per inch. Productivity is said to be up by 70% compared to the current production of 6 colour striping fabrics and there is also the possibility to use this machine as full-fledged high-performance single jersey machine with a linear speed of 1.56 m/s (corresponds to 39 revolutions per minute at 30 inch).
Also present would be the Mayer & Cie’s ‘bestseller’ in the mattress ticking fabrics industry, OVJA 1.6EM. With a top speed of 24 RPM at 38 inch diameter, the OVJA 1.6EM is said to be the fastest mattress machine in the world. At the same time the proven number of knitting feeders (1.6 feeders per inch) allows a maximum degree of flexibility for all fabric qualities presently in demand.
