Participating in the JIAM in tune with its theme Kornit will showcase its industrial and commercial printing solutions for the apparel and textile industry.“Visitors would actually discover new ideas to further increase the design quotient of their products, along with solutions for doing the same,” says Sandeep Mehta, Sales & Marketing Manager – India, Kornit Digital. The company would be present with its top line of direct-to-garment printers, namely, Avalanche-DC-Pro, Breeze and Paradigm, along with Allegro direct-to-textile digital printer.
The Avalanche-DC-Pro is meant for industrial production and has capability of ‘Digital Discharge Printing’ in combination with white ink. This enables discharge printing with varying amount of white ink providing flexibility to achieve the desired ‘feel’ and ‘colour definition’. As this model is equipped with dual bridge technology, it helps economize ink consumption.
An ideal printing system for e-commerce, limited edition niche designs, corporate T-shirts and other promotional wear, Breeze is built with an integrated pre-treatment system incorporating industrial grade print heads, making the machine perfect for commercial use. It also enables printing at the lowest cost compared to any other digital printer.
Paradigm is a Digital Printing Station, which can be interfaced to an automatic screen printing carousel. This solution is about combining the best of both the worlds – analog screen printing and digital printing.
With this combination, it is possible to print a file which can have any number of colours at high resolution and also have screen effects using glitter inks and/or HD inks,or doing gumming for foiling or caviar beads. With a unique and high-end print head configuration, the productivity is high, making this the most viable solution for printing high fashion garments at lowest printing cost.
Due to Kornit’s path breaking technology, digital printing Direct-On-Textiles without pre-coating and subsequent drying can be achieved, using the same set of inks for printing on any textile substrate, be it fabric for upholstery, curtains or dress materials.
The new Kornit Allegro is just 7 metre long digital printing line comprising of a fabric feeding unit, printer with Spectra Polaris Industrial print heads, in-line drying & curing and a winding unit post-curing.“You can directly print one roll of cotton followed by blended fabric, followed by polyester and so on. It means the printer can cater to different market verticals with ease such as one roll can be curtains, next one can be saree roll followed by knitwear fabric with Lycra,” avers Sandeep.Truly, Allegro not only redefines Pigment Printing on textiles, but also creates symphony of colours like no other textile digital printing system can.
Talking about the digital printing scene in India, Sandeep opines that the Indian digital printing market is likely to exceed US $ 180 million and moreover import data of the current fiscal shows 6-8 machines are being installed per month allover India. Availability as well as demand now is for mid and high production machines, indicating the fact that digital textile and garment printing industry is scaling up the maturity curve. “Value addition with Digital Printing will remain a key factor for the industry to stay competitive,” concludes Sandeep.
