
With over 1,00,000 sewing machines running in a country, Jack is positioned as the top sewing solution provider in Bangladesh, which is crowded with sewing machine manufacturers from all over the world. With the industry going for automation due to the recent wage hike, prospects of growth is immense. “Now with the minimum wage set at Taka 5,300, the total wage of even a helper is Taka 9,000 inclusive of 2 hours daily overtime and by adopting sewing machines with under-bed trimmer, a manufacturer can save Taka 9000 on every sewing machine, which is a great amount looking at the scales of operations in Bangladesh,” reasons Jimmy, Director International Trade Centre, New Jack Sewing Machine. The company participated at the Garmentech fair with a complete range of sewing machines and automates covering all the sewing applications in apparel manufacturing.
Jack’s clientele in Bangladesh includes some of the most prominent names like Nassa Group, Square Group, Standard Group and Mark Group, with single needle lockstitchers, button holing machines and bar tacking machines being the most preferred technology. With the Bangladeshi market swarming with technology providers from all over the world, Jimmy further defines certain advantages that his company enjoys. “Apart from basic sewing machines, we also have machines for pocket welting, flat lock operations, placket setting and pocket setting; a total of 200 models make us a complete sewing solution provider for the country,” says Jimmy. The company has installed its pocket welting machines at the manufacturing facilities of Nassa Group.
Considered as the leaders in direct drive technology worldwide, Jack takes pride in developing machines which promise energy saving to the extent of 70% compared to other competitive and older version machines. “Besides energy efficiency, our machines offer productivity and quality comparable and at times more than Japanese sewing machine manufacturers,” asserts A Muntaqim, Managing Director of Jack Bangladesh, spearheading the company’s operations in the country. For servicing the industry, Jack has a total of 25 technicians in Bangladesh and a liaison office in Uttara for storage of spare parts and ancillary equipment.
The highlight of Jack’s showcase at the fair was the JK-SHIRELY IIIE high speed direct drive computerized lockstitch sewing machine with an integrated computer and electromagnetic device for presser foot positioning.The thickened machine body is 35% heavier than the older sewing machines and guarantee less noise and vibration.With a maximum sewing speed of 5000 SPM, the machine is equipped with electronic thread tension controller, new thread trimming mechanism, scale locking device, new reverse sewing mechanism and a double switch just above the needle for bar tacking and half stitch.
