The BKMEA and BGBA have launched a joint initiative to promote efficiency, sustainability, and transparency in Bangladesh’s garment industry in order to build a sustainable future for the nation’s textile and apparel industry.
BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem paid a formal visit to the BGBA office on October 13 and had a fruitful conversation with the officials of the organisation. The meeting’s main objectives were to improve policy cooperation, foster sustainable export management and improve coordination between the two associations.
Mohammad Hatem made a number of important announcements during the meeting that are intended to strengthen industry cooperation:
Policy partnership: In order to guarantee mutual growth and strategic alignment between manufacturers and purchasing houses, BKMEA and BGBA will collaborate to get government policy assistance.
Joint arbitration committee: To settle disagreements amicably and promote moral business conduct throughout the industry, the associations will establish a joint arbitration committee.
Operational regulation: In order to foster discipline and credibility in the sector, BKMEA members are encouraged to collaborate exclusively with buying houses that are registered with the BGBA.
Important topics like fair trade policies, export sustainability and capacity building to increase industry resilience over the long run were also covered at the summit. The goal of both groups’ leaders was to establish Bangladesh as a world leader in the production and sourcing of ethical and sustainable clothing.
