Five additional local garment factories have received certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program for their dedication to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Being a global leader in LEED-certified garment factories, Bangladesh after the latest addition to the number of garment factories that are LEED-certified, now boasts of 268 such facilities in total out of which 114 are platinum rated, 135 are gold-rated, 15 are silver-rated and remaining 4 are certified factories.
When it comes to platinum-rated facilities, Bangladesh leads here also globally with 68 of the world’s top 100 LEED-certified factories being located in the country.
Pakiza Knit Composite Ltd., Fashion Pulse Ltd., GAVA Pvt. Ltd., are amongst the newly certified factories that have earned platinum ratings while those which have received gold certifications are Visual Knitwears Ltd., and Talisman Performance Ltd.
