The garment industry in Bangladesh is gaining traction, and the majority of companies are operating nonstop to transport goods. The industry is also making an effort to comply with the government’s decision to raise wages by 9 per cent. Enhancing sustainability and ESG performance to boost industry competitiveness has sparked renewed interest. The businesses are also assessing their automation and technology expenditures. Industry participants had a great chance to observe the innovative technology and management techniques in action at the GTB Show, which was hosted at Banshundhara International Convention City.
The theme of Rajesh Bheda Consulting’s GTB display was Unlocking US$ 7.2 billion in productivity improvement potential through collaboration. Speaking on this topic, Dr. Rajesh Bheda, MD of RBC, stated, “We can state with confidence that the majority of factories in Bangladesh have the ability to increase productivity by at least 20 per cent based on our 17 years of experience in the garment business. Numerous factories have experienced this kind of production increase because to RBC’s numerous training and consulting initiatives. To turn this into a 7.2 billion dollar improvement potential, however, the entire industry—factories, sourcing firms, industry associations, support organisations, and the government—will have to cooperate. The good news is that this can be accomplished without spending money on physical infrastructure, which promotes resource efficiency and sustainability.”
Maneesha Sharma, cofounder and director RBC while speaking with Apparel resources said, “We are thrilled to see how workers—men and women alike—who received training as trainers from RBC under the Sudokkho FBT program, which is backed by Primark, Progress, and Sarathi initiatives of Swisscontact, are helping to increase factory productivity. The output capacity of more than 14,000 current employees who received upskilling through RBC’s Low Performer Improvement Methodology has increased by more than 20 per cent. It is incredibly satisfying to see how the company prospers and how the lives of its employees—the majority of whom are women—are transformed. ‘Your multi-million dollar aircraft is as good as the pilot who flies it,’ is the ultimate statement. We express our gratitude to hundreds of our partner factory owners, brands, and development partners for their investments in increasing productivity and human capability.”
