
Craftsman Footwear and Accessories Ltd., an export-focused shoe manufacturer, has set an ambitious target to export shoes valued at US $ 100 million within the next five years.
To realise this goal, the company plans to implement a double shift at its Gazipur factory by the coming year.
Presently, it operates three production lines, producing 4,500 pairs of shoes in a single shift daily.
Craftsman’s Managing Director, Sadat Hossain Salim, expressed the company’s aspirations, stating, “We want to export US $ 100 million worth of shoes within the next five years.”
In the fiscal year 2021-22, the company successfully shipped US $ 7 million worth of shoes and has set an export target of approximately US $ 10 million for the current fiscal year.
Salim explained, “Initially, we want to introduce a double shift by the next year to increase capacity. Additionally, we have expansion plans to construct a green building to achieve our goals.”
