The President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan, has highlighted the imperative of intensifying economic diplomacy to explore enhanced trade and investment opportunities between Bangladesh and the United States.
In a meeting with Md. Fazle Rabbi, the newly appointed Economic Minister (Designate) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington D.C., Faruque Hassan underscored the pivotal role of diplomatic efforts in promoting Bangladesh and its readymade garment industry within the US.
During the discussions held at the BGMEA Complex recently, Faruque Hassan provided a comprehensive overview of the current state of the apparel industry, its growth prospects, and strategies aimed at bolstering global competitiveness.
Emphasising the need for effective communication, Faruque Hassan urged the Economic Minister to convey the compelling narratives and strengths of Bangladesh’s apparel sector to key stakeholders in the US even as he highlighted the embassy’s crucial role in advancing the interests of Bangladesh’s garment industry and enhancing its brand image internationally.
