The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has stepped forward to provide financial aid to the family of a recently deceased readymade garment worker.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan presented a cheque of Taka 5 lakh to the family of the late Md. Jalaluddin.
The cheque handover ceremony took place at the BGMEA Complex in capital Dhaka recently.
Present at the event were BGMEA Senior Vice President S M Mannan (Kochi) and Vice President (Finance) Khandoker Rafiqul Islam among others.
This is as per a press note issued in this regard by the garment makers’ body.
During the ceremony, Faruque Hassan expressed gratitude for the invaluable contributions of millions of garment workers that have helped the readymade garment industry of Bangladesh to secure an esteemed position globally even as he added the BGMEA remains committed to promoting the well-being of garment workers and would continue to undertake initiatives that contribute to the betterment of their lives.
