India-based textile major Arvind Limited showcased its sustainable clothing collection through a fashion show in Bangalore with an aim to promote sustainability in the country’s textile industry.
Held on the occasion of Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) annual member meeting, the fashion show displayed sustainable collection such as denim, tops, shirts, Khadi clothes, etc. A 45-minute fashion showcase was divided into three brief segments in order to present a comprehensive sustainability-focused product portfolio by Arvind Limited. Around 250 guests from leading brands, manufacturers, NGOs and Academia attended the event.
The first segment emphasized on sustainable input material that goes into manufacturing of clothes such as environment-friendly cotton, recycled polyester, etc., whereas second segment focused on various practices that play a significant role in producing sustainable garments. Finally, the third segment of the show showcased clothing made from Khadi and local handlooms; thus, promoting Indian craftsmanship.

Present at the event, Ashish Kumar, CEO – Shirts, Arvind Limited said, “In current times, sustainability has become need of the hour and we all should take necessary steps to make our environment pollution free.
