Adidas, the German athletic apparel and footwear giant, is scheduled to open its first store in Bangladesh this month at the capital’s Gulshan-1.
The three stripes will collaborate with the top local conglomerate DBL Group to make this debut easier.
“We have planned a soft launch on 11th May. There will be a formal launch later with the presence of Adidas regional managing director,” MA Rahim Feroz, vice chairman of DBL Group, told local media.
In the past, DBL Group brought American athletic footwear and apparel brand Nike, German sportswear brand Puma, and American fashion brand Levi’s to the nation.
According to Rezwan Habib, head of Business Operations at DBL Lifestyles, the retail division of DBL Group, it will be the first official location of Adidas in Bangladesh.
He added preparations are in place to expand the number of locations in response to customer feedback.
With a retail footprint of 4000 sq.ft., the store features the best of the brand across sport and lifestyle, including the widest range of running & football apparel and footwear, the latest ‘originals’ designs and collaborations alongside an extensive women’s portfolio. The new store highlights a combination of digital innovation, unique shopper experiences and an unmatched product experience for the shoppers.
According to company officials, they currently operate five Puma stores in Banani, Dhanmondi, Bashundhara City, Gulshan Unimart, and Chittagong.
In addition, there is a Levi’s store in Dhaka and a Nike experience store in Banani. Additionally, they intend to open shops in the port city and other strategic areas of Bangladesh.
