Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) has warned all Pakistani textile exporters to follow International Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM-15) regarding exporting goods in wooden pallets to avoid imposition of a ban on exports from Pakistan to the European Union. Under this measure, wooden packing material is not only required to be fumigated with methyl bromide but also has to be certified by a National Plant Protection Organization. The ministry of textile industry issued this specific warning as some Pakistani textile firms have used wooden pallets with harmful organism carrying textile products to member states of EU.
