Optimization of a setting where the variables to be optimized are few is intricate, and walking the tightrope of optimization with their integrated cutting room solutions is Morgan Tecnica, a company that holds the vision of automated cutting room solutions for every manufacturing unit. The company presented a string of IT-powered innovations for the cutting room at the recently concluded Texprocess Americas 2014.
Displayed at the event, Twist Line 100 is a futuristic spreader that comes with a computer-touch and exclusive advanced software that allows online support and upgrade. Also, the wireless spreader programming is controllable from anywhere. It guarantees top performances in spreading any kind of materials loaded as rolls, folded bundles or as a tubular format. Use of the latest generation of digital electronics allows the machine to reach its top possible spreading precision and quality at highest working speed of 100 m/min, but still offering production efficiency and maximum reliability.
Coupled with a powerful Cut Order Planning Software, the spreader can be used to plan and program multi-sizes and multi-colour work orders. Further, the software is capable of giving spreading feedback reports in a format that can be integrated with the company’s existing ERP. “This is not just a production machine. It is a feedback machine. It speaks to you. The software tackles the issue of end bits with the end alignment setup feature that results in significant fabric savings,” says Anandkumar D, MD, Morgan Dynamics.
“Twist Line 100 is not just a production machine. The software tackles the issue of end bits with the end alignment setup feature.”
Anandkumar further explains, “If one uses a roll for one lay and then takes the leftover fabric from the same roll to another lay a saving of 0.75-1.25% of fabric can be achieved. This is possible only if proper records are maintained.” This impressive spreading machine has a payback period of one year.
