Danish businesses have been urged to think about investing in Bangladesh’s jute and textile industries by Brigadier General (Rtd) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hussain, Advisor to the Textiles and Jute Ministry. This request was made in the Ministry office during a polite discussion with Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Christian Brix Moller.
Dr. Sakhawat emphasised the growing market need for jute and jute goods in Europe while highlighting the material’s eco-friendly qualities. He pointed out that Bangladesh is a good place for investment since it has a skilled labour pool in both the jute and textile industries.
“Investment in Bangladesh is now more favourable thanks to the government’s efforts,” he said, promising investors that their money would be well-protected and unsullied. “This administration has demonstrated its dedication to being business-friendly by opening up substantial opportunities for both domestic and foreign enterprises.”
ISakhawat applauded Denmark’s willingness in investing in Bangladesh’s shipbuilding and port facilities, sectors in which Denmark possesses significant experience, in addition to jute and textiles. Additionally, the Danish Ambassador indicated interest in creating a container facility in Patenga, Chittagong’s Laldiar Char.
Sakhawat highlighted the solid bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Denmark, characterising Denmark as a significant development partner of Bangladesh. The officials conveyed their contentment with the present cooperation and hope for further development of their alliance in the future.
