Marubeni Corporation, the Japanese business group, has underlined that they were focusing on high-quality eco-friendly and sustainable infrastructure development in Bangladesh even as the firm has assessed Bangladesh as one of the high-potential, most rapidly developing and attractive markets.
Speaking to the media, Hikari Kawai, the Country Head of Marubeni Bangladesh has, reportedly, maintained that the firm has been doing business in the country (Bangladesh) from the 1950s and since the beginning Marubeni has been doing business here to contribute to the proper development of Bangladesh even as he added, “Under this motto, we currently focus on high-quality, eco-friendly and sustainable Infrastructure development, value adding to garment and textile industry and growth of ICT industry,” while adding that his company has recently signed an MOU with EGCB for 100 MW solar power project in Feni.
Appreciating the strong efforts of the Bangladesh Government towards ensuring security after the Holey Artisan incident, Hikari Kawai further, reportedly, added that judging from the information gathered from global network, Marubeni assesses that Bangladesh was one of the most rapidly developing, high potential and attractive markets even as he stated that there were several concerns still such as the coronavirus pandemic, time-consuming and costly export and import procedure, complicated rules and regulations, etc.
