Underlining the new German Supply Chain Act will primarily focus on human rights issues, but also include environmental considerations, Achim Tröster, German Ambassador in Bangladesh, attending a recent event, has suggested Bangladesh exporters to get ready to face the same.
The act comes to effect in January 2023.
Achim Tröster highlighted the same while addressing an event on National Budget 2022- Implications on Trade & Commerce, organised by the BGCCI in Dhaka recently, even as he added Germany is the largest trading partner of Bangladesh in Europe and the second largest globally.
He also added Bangladesh’s apparel exports to Germany stood at US $ 5.95 billion in FY ‘21 as against US $ 6.97 billion from the US market.
