
Bangladesh has been the number one exporter of denim to the USA second year in a row amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Media reports maintained this citing data Commerce Department’s Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA), as per which, Bangladesh exported denim garments worth US $ 798.42 to the USA, registering 42.25 per cent year-on-year growth even if in 2020, Bangladesh exported US $ 561.29 million worth of denim garments to the US market.
Bangladesh outperforming the likes of China and Mexico in denim export to USA is very refreshing during the pandemic period, reportedly, said Managing Director of Denim Expert Limited, Mostafiz Uddin, speaking to the media.
“…it is an evaluation of our sincere efforts,” added further Managing Director of Vintage Denim Studio Limited Zillur Rahman Mridha adding it was good to hear Bangladesh has maintained its position in the US market.
