Bangladesh has extended the closure of its border with India for a couple more weeks from 1 June in view of the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the neighbouring country even as movement of goods across the border will continue.
Media reports maintained this while adding movement of passengers through the Bangladesh-India border has remained suspended since 26 April.
A senior official at the Foreign Affairs Ministry on 30 May (Sunday), reportedly, maintained that the closure of the border with India has been extended for 14 more days while adding the situation will be evaluated further.
Meanwhile, another media report has claimed that Indian truckers as well as Bangladeshi workers were allegedly not following the laid down health guidelines at the Sonamasjid Land Port in Chapainawabganj even as it claimed that several workers engaged in loading as well as Indian truck drivers and their assistants were found without face masks.
