Swimwear imports of USA have increased 32.36 per cent in January ’22 with some significant disruptions in tally.
Analysing OTEXA data, Apparel Resources found USA imported US $ 175.50 million worth of swimwear in the first month of 2022, 45.76 per cent of which came from China!
Shipping US $ 80.32 million worth of swimwear to USA, China witnessed a surge of 70.43 per cent and a massive increase in share from just 35.45 per cent in January ’21.
Vietnam’s swimwear export to USA remained on standstill mode as it could just grow 2.85 per cent Y-o-Y growth and clocked US $ 40.98 million export revenues in January ’22.
Impressively, Bangladesh jumped from 6th to 3rd place with US $ 11.84 million worth of swimwear import of USA coming from this country. Bangladesh noted a whopping 136.33 per cent in its swimwear shipment to USA during January ’22.
The country beat the performance of Indonesia (US $ 9.89 million; down 6 per cent), Cambodia (US $ 6.75 million; up 20.82per cent), Sri Lanka (US $ 5.92 million; up 42.75per cent) and Egypt (US $ 3.17 million; down 41.91per cent).
