Bangladesh is yet to see some positivity in its overall apparel exports as the country has declined by 5.71 per cent in its export values in Feb. ’21. This is consecutive 5th month when Bangladesh has reported negative export.
Previously, Bangladesh experienced positivity in its apparel export values in Sep. ’20 when it upped by 3.09 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.
According to EPB data, in Feb. ’21, the country clocked US $ 2.62 billion from its apparel exports as against US $ 2.78 billion in Feb. ’20.
Of total value, the share of woven clothing was US $ 1.27 billion (down 15.47 per cent), while the contribution of knitted clothing was US $ 1.35 billion, which noted an increase of 5.78 per cent in Feb. ’21.
The fall in export values was also recorded on M-o-M basis as Bangladesh tumbled by 8.39 per cent as compared to the export values – US $ 2.86 billion – secured in Jan. ’21.
