Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, has called upon businesses to explore new markets to strengthen Bangladesh’s economy further through enhanced foreign earnings while also stressing on diversification of exportable products.
Inaugurating the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center at Purbachal recently, Sheikh Hasina, reportedly, maintained that all the industries should start taking preparations from now on to address future challenges, and added, “Government will extend all cooperation, but your own initiatives have to be there…Whenever you produce a product, you have to maintain high quality to meet the needs of different countries; then you can survive in the market.”
The Prime Minister further, reportedly, added the country’s apparel sector was being given the highest importance as a huge number of female workers were employed in this industry even as the Government was prioritising other sectors as well and urged for new markets to be explored for textile, leather and other industries.
Sheikh Hasina, while referring to her initiative of setting up 100 economic zones across Bangladesh, reportedly, underlined the Government has taken steps to create opportunities for local or joint investment there.
