
With the days of joining the big league of developing nations inching closer, Bangladesh has upped the ante to sign trade agreements to minimise the impact of the LDC graduation on its export.
In this direction, taking part at a virtual meeting of the Canada-Bangladesh Joint Working Group on strengthening commercial relations, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada Khalil Rahman, reportedly, said Governments of Bangladesh and Canada are working on signing a FTA (free trade agreement) and a foreign investment promotion and protection agreement to increase bilateral trade between the two countries.
According to media reports, the Bangladeshi envoy further proposed signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Business Council of Canada (BCC) to strengthen Canada-Bangladesh trade and investment relations.
