After an agreement was made with Government intervention regarding their entire debt of Taka 17.13 crore, TNZ Group employees refused the payment offer of Taka 3 crore before Eid on Saturday.
For the past five days, employees of the Group’s three ready-made clothing factories—TNZ Apparels Ltd., Apparel Plus Eco Ltd., and Apparel Art Ltd.—have been demonstrating at the Shrama Bhaban to demand payment for three months that they have been due. They claimed that just more than Taka 1 crore of the total arrears had been paid to them.
Additionally, he stated that Taka 3 crore would be set up following the sale of their equipment before Eid.
Workers, however, immediately rejected the ruling and declared that they would not stop protesting until they received their entire compensation, including their Eid bonus and other payouts.
The labour secretary added that he would meet again on 8th April to talk about the problems facing the TNZ Group following the Eid holidays.
