A garment factory in Gazipur Sadar upazila was closed on Wednesday after at least 40 workers reported sudden illness. The exact cause of their sickness is currently unknown, according to Inspector Abdul Latif Khan of the Gazipur-2 Industrial Police (Sreepur zone).
The incident occurred in the morning, prompting immediate medical attention for the affected workers, who were transported to various local hospitals. Further details regarding the situation are expected to emerge as investigations continue.
Authorities from the Industrial Police and Joydevpur Police Station are on-site at the factory, located in the Shirirachala (Bagherbazar) area.
