The apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh has called for creating more job opportunities for the transgender people of the country so as to ensure their inclusion in the mainstream of the economy.
Media reports maintained this citing the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in this regard.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, reportedly, maintained the same while addressing an event “Social Responsibility Award 2022” in capital Dhaka recently.
“…they are often treated in such a manner as if they are outsiders. We have to change this attitude towards the transgender people and create more employment opportunities for them so that they can become self-dependent and also contribute to the economy,” reportedly, stated the BGMEA President.
