Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) employees reportedly have donated a day’s salary for flood victims to the Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund. Considering the severity of the ongoing devastating floods in the country, BEPZA employees have extended their support to the victims, said a BEPZA press release.
The release said BEPZA hoped their cooperation will help rebuild the lives of flood victims.
BEPZA is an authorised government organisation tasked with encouraging investment in Bangladesh and creating, developing, running, and managing industrial zones such as the Export Processing Zone. Act No. 36 of 1980 created BEPZA to promote industrialisation, exports, the creation of jobs, and the transfer of knowledge inside the nation.
The Government took the initiative to establish Export Processing Zones (EPZs) around the nation in response to the growing need to draw foreign direct investment (FDI), local investment, and industrialisation. The country’s honourable prime minister serves as the direct boss of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA).
As of right now, the continuous floods in nine districts have claimed the lives of 54 people, including seven women and seven children, according to the most recent report from the disaster management and assistance ministry.
