
Effective from October 1, the new prices of medium staple for 2015-16 will be Rs. 3,800 and Rs. 4,100 for the long staple; up Rs. 50 per quintal. The decision is based on recommendations of Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) for the Price Policy for Kharif Crops for the Marketing Season 2015-16. Chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs given its approval for the MSP. Farmers in the cotton belt across India always insist for more price as cost and inflation is continuously increasing.
