Following a five-day break for Eid-ul-Fitr and Bangla New Year, export and import operations between India and Bangladesh through Benapole land port recommenced on Monday morning.
Previously, due to Eid-ul-Fitr and Bangla New Year, import and export with India through this port had been halted from 10th to 14th April.
The Port of Benapole C&F Staff Association’s general secretary, Sajedur Rahman, stated that this morning’s export and import operations have restarted.
Kamruzzaman Biswas, officer-in-charge of Benapole Check Post Immigration Police, said the movement of passengers between the two countries was normal despite the suspension of trade for holidays.
