The customers of the crisis-ridden e-commerce player Alesha Mart have started getting refund after the portal initiated process of refunding the customers from the money that got stuck with the SSL Payment gateway.
Media reports maintained this adding a meeting on refunding the stuck funds was held at Commerce Ministry even if after the meeting Senior Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, reportedly, inaugurated the disbursement process (of the funds) at his secretariat office.
According to media reports, Additional Commerce Secretary and chief of central digital commerce cell AHM Shafiquzzaman, senior ministry officials and representatives from e-CAB, law-enforcement agencies, different state agencies and e-commerce platforms attended the function while adding currently an estimated Taka 420 million has been stuck up with the gateway as customers paid the money in advance against products ordered.
