
As Bangladesh inches closer towards transition from a least developed nation to a developing country, which will come with its own share of challenges, the European Union, which is a developmental partner and a major bastion for export of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparels, has underlined it would support Bangladesh to ensure sustainable graduation.
Media reports maintained this adding the same was maintained by EU’s ambassador to Bangladesh Charles Whiteley during a recent meeting with President of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), at the latter’s office in capital Dhaka.
Whiteley further, reportedly, underlined there are untapped areas of cooperation where many EU member countries might be able to collaborate with Bangladesh to render technical support on various aspects even as MCCI President Md. Saiful Islam on his part highlighted the challenges of LDC graduation.
