The President of the BGMEA Faruque Hassan has maintained the next phase of the country’s development will depend significantly on industrialisation even as he added the Government’s initiatives of enhancing power generation and developing infrastructure will accelerate the industrial growth.
The BGMEA chair, reportedly, came up with the observation while visiting the EPV Thakurgaon Ltd. power plant — as per reports, EPVTL has 115MW capacity and is a subsidiary project of Energypac Power Venture Limited —in Thakurgaon recently.
The BGMEA President further, reportedly, called upon investors and entrepreneurs including members of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and of the BGMEA to set up apparel manufacturing units and backward linkage industries in the northern region of Bangladesh even as he underlined new industries will create employment opportunities for a large number of people, thereby alleviating poverty and empowering women in the area.
