Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that the next budget (for FY 2021-22) will reflect rational demands from the businesses.
The Finance Minister made this observation at the 41st meeting of the budget consultative committee of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) held virtually on 18 April (Sunday), and jointly organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the revenue board.
We have delivered a business-friendly budget last year and you will see such reflection this time also, assured the business community of the country, the Finance Minister while adding that no proposal put forth by the businesses is irrational.
Underlining that businesses would have to move forward becoming stronger, the Finance Minister extended his thanks to the business community for continuing their business operations while also paying taxes to the Government, notwithstanding the difficult period, on account of the coronavirus pandemic.
It may be mentioned here that the FBCCI and NBR jointly hold the consultative committee meeting every year ahead of the national budget.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, the meeting was held virtually.
