Lectra, a France-based integrated technology services provider for the textile and fashion industry, has recently been honoured with ‘Showcase for the Industry of the Future’ award.
The award was given by the Industry of the Future Alliance (AIF) for Lectra’s efforts in demonstrating innovations and its commitment towards producing solutions by using digital methods.
According to Lectra, the ‘award’ was a result of the company’s € 86 million investment in R&D since 2013. The investment represented 9.4 per cent of the company’s total revenue and enabled the technology giant to undergo a metamorphosis over the years.
“Fundamental technologies and methodological advances have increased recruitment and growing competitiveness in all of its markets and geographical sectors. Therefore, we are in an unrivalled position to support customers with our cutting solution expertise as they enter the ‘industry of the future’ era,” stated Lectra in its press release.
Lectra’s industrial project, for which it was awarded, followed certain risk analysis including, the transportation cost for the European market, the turnover generated by the qualified labour, uncertainty over patent rights and quality.
“We saw growth in industrial performance, awareness around factory constraints, and improved emphasis on product, process and logistics’ modularity during the project,” claimed Lectra.
AIF also considered various parameters such as cost-competitiveness, quality and delivery times to announce Lectra as the winner. Mentioned parameters were obtained in the products through lean approach taken by Lectra, informed AIF.
