Paramount Instruments, a known name in the textile and garment testing equipments got a tremendous response. The company displayed its newly launched projection microscope Digivision with LCD display and software interface. Whatever the lens observes, is displayed on the touch screen LCD. The machine can be attached to a computer and even to the internet. The system equipped with software identifies the fibre-based on the length of the fibre and other features like hairiness and thickness. “The software has pre fed pictures on one row. You just have to click on them and compare the picture of your tested fibre with the pre fed fibre picture. If they match, it will identify the fibre. You can even calculate the denier/micronier value of fibre which is very tedious job. It is done automatically”, explains Manjeet Singh Saini, CEO and Director, Paramount.
The software also generates reports besides measuring the length and diameter of fibre and with the help of a 5 megapixel in-built camera with magnification up to 100X and extendable up to 1500X. The company manufactures these products in its factory at Bahadurgarh, Haryana, while its service centres are spread in all the major cities. The company is servicing the testing equipment needs of the buyers and the export houses for the last 18 years.

The company also displayed Cutmaster, a unique swatch cutter which doesn’t require any blade or cutting pad as a consumable unlike other cutters. It is a long lasting machine. Even after 1 year (50,000 cuts) the machine might not require any replacement. “This is possible because there is no blade in this cutter. The Cutmaster cuts the fabric swatch with the help of three coupled rollers and a slot. Rollers fit into the slot cutting the fabric on their way. So, there is no need for consumables like blade and backing to support the fabric,” explains Saini.
“Ludhiana market is a price-conscious market. The cutter is very economic and that’s why we are getting a lot of enquiries from people here. This cutter has already been sold to Rainbow Denim, Lalru (Punjab),” Saini adds.
The company’s stall also featured the unique colour matching booth SpectraLux, the special feature of which is its attractive low price. The booth provides automatic sequencing of lights thereby, offering hands free operation in 5 different light sources. Paramount also presented testing equipments from its seven pearl series. “We want to cultivate this mindset here that colour matching is very important, besides the seven pearls which are seven basic testing equipments required by everyone in the textile industry,” concludes Manjeet.
