For many years now, the CISMA in Shanghai has been an important meeting-place for the Groz-Beckert business. This year too, the company will bring latest innovations to solve persistent problems of the garment industry. The company’s stall will showcase product demonstrations of Groz-Beckert’s own “sewing laboratory” which will include the presentations of new needle technologies.
The company will also be providing information on the environmentally-compatible manufacturing process of its products showing that when it comes to ecology, the responsibility of its actions goes far beyond the official regulations, be it reduction of energy, water and chemical consumption or lending its support to green projects like DHL Go Green.
Needles with Novelty
The first of the many innovations to be presented in the CISMA by Groz-Beckert is Gebeswitch range of needles which provides fast and easy changeover – smaller to large needles – in 10 seconds. The setting range varies from Nm 80 to Nm 200. This easy-to-use range will surely make the sewing machines capable to reproduce their settings more accurately depending upon the fabric type and weight, obviously leading to better productivity and hence, better profits. The company has played with the shape and orientation of hook and scarf and made it constant over a size range of Nm 80 to Nm 200 by the displacement of needle axis.
Another special needle LR SAN 12 is ideal for double needle decorative seams. Ideally, double needle lockstitch machines produce two adjacent seams in a single work process, thus the left and the right hand seam should have an identical seam appearance. However due to different threading direction and loop pickup between the left and the right hand needle, a different seam appearance is created in the left and the right hand seam.
The LR SAN 12 cutting point needle forces the thread on to the right hand side into the required position during the thread pulling in stage. To achieve this, a standard LR needle is used on the left side while an LR SAN 12 needle is used on the right.
Last but not least, visitors can look forward to a foretaste of the Technology and Development Centre (TEZ) that is currently being built at the company’s headquarters in Albstadt, in Germany.
