Whenever the next generation joins a family business, a lot of hopes and challenges face the youngster… hope from the older generation and staff that some fresh approach will support growth and challenges for the GenNext to change systems and achieve the goals. Tanvi Loond, a CA by profession and having experience of working with good accountancy firms, has recently entered into the 28 years old family business, Fashion Sphere, a Noida-based export house, which has been exporting wide range of womenswear to France, Brazil, UK and US under the leadership of Yogesh Loond, Director of the company. “I wish to be more systematic in my approach to the business, as well as focus on automation by replacing manpower with machines wherever it can bring extra value, so we have recently installed a CAD system from Optitex and now we are planning for ERP which will take a little time. I feel that it will make us cost-effective as our work will be technically sound,” avers Tanvi.
The company has a capacity of producing 40,000 pieces per month and expansion plans are also on the cards. “We have decided to set-up another factory, as the current capacity is a restraint since we have the orders and growing demand for our products to back the expansion. Yes, it is not easy, as buyers expect more and more designs and developments from Indian exporters and we have to always be on our toes all the time, but we feel we are ready for the challenge,” she says. The company is offering high-value womenswear with average FOB of US $ 5.50 and recently participated for the first time at Vastra fair, Jaipur and met more than 10 buyers who liked the product development of the company. Tanvi is now eyeing on Portugal to expand and reach into newer markets.
