Leading CAD/CAM design software manufacturer OptiTex, which celebrates 20 years into the industry, recently launched its latest dynamic innovation as part of the celebration: A multi-language interface that facilitates design and communication between designers and their manufacturers around the world. “We have always sought ways to enhance communication among the partners in the design and manufacturing process,” comments Ran Machtinger, President and CEO of Optitex, adding further “OptiTex is revolutionizing all aspects of the process from design to manufacturing, and this is another bold step.”
Designers can customize this software interface by simply selecting a language from a drop-down menu including Hindi where the features will appear automatically in that language. Leveraging Google’s new API, OptiTex has taken a step further by allowing the users to enter a chat room to select a second language into which the text will automatically be translated. For example, a designer in the US and a manufacturer in China will communicate with each other in the chat room, in the selected language, enhancing each party’s participation in the process.
“This follows closely on the introduction of our new Colour Manager feature, which ensures accurate recreation of customized colours throughout the design and manufacturing process. Combined with our new multi-language interface, our system helps insure that everyone is on the same page from the beginning to the end of the design process,” Machtinger further adds. As part of the ongoing celebration, Optitex is organizing a seminar in November in Delhi where Julia Shaw, National Support Manager of the company, will unveil both the new softwares and give their demo. Julia will also be talking about another popular product, 3D Runway Designer.
3D Runway Designer is already a hit in the industry. OptiTex 3D Runway fashion software is a realistic cloth simulation/cloth modelling software system based on accurate CAD patterns and real fabric characteristics which can be used for 3D garment draping and visualization by designers, pattern makers, and retailers. This software reduces product development time, cost of multiple iterations, enhances product quality and analyzes fabric behaviour. “3D shaves weeks off the time taken to create new designs and get approval to sell them,” says Machtinger.
In another development OptiTex and NVIDIA, a visual computing technology manufacturer, have joined hands to promote environmentally-friendly technology. The two plan to develop CAD/CAM 2D and 3D tools which can help designers reduce wastage in fabric, paper, power usage, and the energy used to transport physical samples over long distances. “Our challenge was to bring our vast experience in the textile industries to the computationally intensive applications in NVIDIA’s traditional markets such as digital art production, film production, and broadcasting,” says Gadi Zadikoff, V-P Research and Development, OptiTex. “Because our 2D and 3D software simulates the dynamics of cloth movement, we have an ideal blend with NVIDIA’s performance-oriented hardware solutions.”
