
Yarn prices in Bangladesh are expected to climb in September 2025 as knitwear factories gear up for the upcoming Autumn/Winter export orders.
As of August, the demand for knit yarn from the country’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector has been steadily increasing, pushing prices upward.
The 30/1 NE yarn count, widely used in knitwear production, is currently trading between US $ 2.85 and US $ 2.90 per kg for 100% cotton carded yarn. Industry experts predict that by the end of September, the price could reach US $ 3.00 per kg.
The 100% Cotton Carded Yarn Price varies by yarn count and certification. For yarn counts 24/1 & 26/1, prices range from US $ 2.80 for standard carded cotton to US $ 3.50 for carded OCS/GOTS certified yarn, with carded BCI and CmiA priced at US $ 2.85, IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri at US $ 3.20, and recycled yarn at US $ 3.05. For 28/1 & 30/1, standard carded cotton is priced at US $ 2.85, with BCI at US $ 2.90, CmiA at US $ 2.90, IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri at US $ 3.25, OCS/GOTS at US $ 3.55, and recycled yarn at US $ 3.10.
At 32/1, prices begin at US $ 2.95 for standard carded cotton, rising to US $ 3.35 for IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri, and reaching US $ 3.65 for OCS/GOTS certified yarn. For 34/1, standard carded cotton is US $ 3.05, BCI is US $ 3.10, CmiA is US $ 3.10, IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri are US $ 3.45, OCS/GOTS is US $ 3.75, and recycled yarn is US $ 3.25. At 36/1, carded cotton prices start at US $ 3.20, with IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri both at US $ 3.60, OCS/GOTS at US $ 3.90, and recycled yarn at US $ 3.35. For 40/1, the price ranges from US $ 3.45 for carded cotton to US $ 4.15 for OCS/GOTS certified yarn, with recycled yarn priced at US $ 3.45.
The 100% Cotton Combed Yarn Price also differs across counts and certifications. For 24/1 & 26/1, prices start at US $ 3.10 for standard combed cotton, with BCI and CmiA at US $ 3.15, IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri at US $ 3.50, and OCS/GOTS certified yarn at US $ 3.80. For 28/1 & 30/1, prices range from US $ 3.15 for combed cotton to US $ 3.85 for OCS/GOTS certified yarn, with IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri both priced at US $ 3.55. At 32/1, combed cotton begins at US $ 3.35, rising to US $ 3.65 for IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri, and reaching US $ 4.00 for OCS/GOTS certified yarn. For 34/1, prices range from US $ 3.35 for standard combed cotton to US $ 4.05 for OCS/GOTS, with IC2 (GOTS) and Regenagri both at US $ 3.75.
