At the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka, BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain met with a group from the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), headed by President Justin Huang. The purpose of the meeting was to investigate cooperative prospects for reciprocal trade advantages in the textile and clothing industries.
Representatives from the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) were among those present. Discussions centred on a range of trade-related subjects, including the state of the ready-made clothing market, new international trends, and the opportunities and difficulties that both sides face.
The possibilities for information exchange and skill development in areas such as resource efficiency, technological adaptability, and innovation within the textile and apparel industries were the main topics of discussion. Finding and seizing trade and investment opportunities in these industries was a goal shared by both delegations.
Anwar Hossain, BGMEA Administrator, emphasised Bangladesh’s strategic move to increase the manufacture of high-value and non-cotton clothing. He emphasised how crucial it is to support the nation’s apparel industry’s sustainable growth, especially by boosting the production of goods created from synthetic fibres.
Hossain urged Taiwanese companies to think about making direct or joint venture investments in Bangladesh’s non-cotton textiles, technology textiles, woven textiles, and skill development programs.
Both parties departed the conference with a positive outlook on future opportunities for cooperation, hoping to reap reciprocal advantages in the clothing and textile industries.
