In a significant move to advance sustainable energy solutions within the ready-made garment (RMG) industry, Solaric Group, a leading player in renewable energy engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), has partnered with Engineering Resources International (ERI) Ltd., a well-respected energy advisory firm. The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on enhancing the adoption of renewable energy technologies, particularly in Bangladesh’s RMG sector, known for its substantial energy consumption.
The MoU was formalised in a signing ceremony held at the ERI Office in Mirpur, Dhaka, attended by key figures from both companies. Didar Islam, Managing Director & CEO of Solaric Group, and Shaikh Akber Hakim, Founder & CEO of ERI Ltd., were present, along with other directors from both organizations.
Under this strategic partnership, Solaric will leverage its expertise in designing and constructing solar power projects, while ERI will contribute its knowledge in energy audits, policy development, and system optimization. This collaborative effort aims to provide comprehensive and integrated renewable energy solutions tailored to the unique needs of the RMG sector and other industrial areas.
Shaikh Akber Hakim emphasised the importance of this partnership in the context of industry decarbonization, stating, “This is a significant step towards our journey towards a net-zero world. With our cutting-edge data reporting platform, we can now provide a one-stop solution to many of the critical challenges faced by supply chains.”
Didar Islam expressed gratitude to ERI for their partnership, highlighting the potential for this collaboration to create new opportunities and advancements in renewable energy within the RMG sector.
This strategic alliance not only underscores the critical role of partnerships in accelerating renewable energy adoption but also positions Solaric and ERI to make meaningful contributions toward achieving national and global renewable energy targets.
