Influx of cotton at Pakistan’s ginneries by December 1, 2014, has gone up by 9.96 per cent year-on-year basis compared to arrival of 11.045 million bales during the corresponding period of last season, as per a report by Pakistan Cotton Ginners’ Association (PCGA), in association with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA). In Punjab province, the total cotton arrivals went up by 12.32 per cent year-on-year to 8.498 bales. In Sindh province, cotton arrivals increased by 4.83 per cent to 3.647 bales as on December 1 during the ongoing cotton season 2014-15. In 2013-14 cotton season, Pakistan’s cotton production went up by 3.69 per cent to 13.391 million bales against the previous season’s production of 12.915 million bales.
