Chinese company Taisheng (Bangladesh) Webbing Co Ltd., will invest US $ 6 million to establish a shoe, bag and garments accessories manufacturing industry in BEPZA Economic Zone located at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) in Mirsharai, Chattogram.
According to a news statement, the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) recently signed a deal with the company in the presence of Executive Chairman Maj Gen Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.
The deal was signed at the BEPZA Complex in the city by Li Yecai, managing director of Taisheng (Bangladesh) Webbing Co Ltd., and Ali Reza Mazid, member (investment promotion) of BEPZA.
The enterprise will employ 200 Bangladeshis by producing six million tonnes of shoelaces, elastic, drawcord, drawstring, string, webbing belts, and webbing tape annually.
Among others, Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Finance) Md Ashraful Kabir, Executive Director (Admin) ANM Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez along with representatives of the enterprise were present during the signing ceremony.
